Sponsorship of “Convoy by Disabled from Melaka to Putrajaya”
To Raise Funds for Disability Assistive Devices
December 2nd — December 5th 2009
In conjunction with International Day For Disabled Persons, Society of Independent Living for Disabled, Selangor is organizing “Convoy by Disabled from Melaka to Putrajaya ”, aimed to raise public awareness on the important of barrier free environment, to encourage disabled people to live an independent life, and to raise funds for disability assistive devices. This is the first convoy that organized by people who have “severe disability” in Malaysia.
A suitable assistive device is very important in assisting a disabled person to pursue an independent life. For example, people who have severe disability need a motorized wheelchair to move around independently. This is the only way that can restore him/her with normal life and leading him/her to live with dignity. But, most of the disabled people cannot effort to buy assistive devices that suit to their condition.
To make this event a success and for the needy to have what they need, you can play an important role via giving monetary contribution, or to take part in our event as volunteer.
